The Future Classroom Lab BESST

The Future Classroom Lab BESST has been a part of our school since September 2021 and education process of Year 5 pupils (10-11 year olds) takes place there. During education of pupils, individual learning zones and mainly methods and forms of active learning are used. Pupils thus have the opportunity to discover, explore, create and work in groups or individually. The Future Classroom Lab BESST also includes an outdoor teaching terrace and a small library where books are changed regularly to encourage pupils to read.

All pupils of The Future Classroom Lab also have an iPad for educational purposes at school (and at home), where they have many applications that they use to learn, re-study, or create their own content. The three Interact zones, there are interactive LED screens and an Apple TV for the possibility of mirroring iPads or MacBooks. To ensure quality presentation of pupils in the presentation zone, this zone is equipped with a data projector with the possibility of projection on a white background and also a green wall for creating green screen videos. The aim of the FCL premises is to support the use of innovative methods and methods of active learning of pupils, to lead pupils to discover, experiment and motivate pupils to construct their own knowledge.

The ambition of the school and The Future Classroom Lab BESST is to train teachers not only of our school for the effective use of methods and forms of active learning, but gradually also to offer trainings for teachers of other schools from all over Slovakia.

WE ARE DEVELOPING AND PASSING ON EXPERIENCES

Part of our teachers, who participated in June 2022 in the Erasmus+ program training in Brussels called Active learning in my school and classroom, passed on their acquired knowledge and retrained their colleagues directly in the FCL BESST future classroom in August 2022.

The training included topics of active learning for pupils, offered tools for using innovative methods and technologies in education.

We want to teach quality and fulfill the principles of the class of the future. We are creating a network of teachers who support each other, advise each other, share new experiences, inspirations and make the teaching profession more attractive.

We believe that this is also contributing to the improvement of the teaching process for all pupils.
