Students from our Lego club, who are also members of the school’s FIRST LEGO League team IT-PRO BESST jr., represented Slovakia at the English National Finals as one of the invited international teams.
At the Harrogate Convention Centre, they competed alongside 62 top English teams and five international teams, showcasing their skills in robotics, programming, innovation, and teamwork. In the Robot Game category, they achieved an impressive 34th place
For our students, this was much more than a competition. They presented their own innovation project, explored advanced robotic solutions, and experienced an atmosphere where technology , creativity , and genuine team spirit come together.
A major highlight was receiving the “Breakthrough Award” , presented to a team that has shown exceptional progress throughout the season. The award celebrates growth, perseverance, teamwork, and the courage to keep improving — values that are at the heart of FIRST LEGO League.
Beyond the competition, the students also explored the Yorkshire region , stayed in the spa town of Harrogate, and visited the historic city of York, including a fascinating Viking museum
They returned home not only with experience and inspiration , but also with even greater motivation to keep learning, creating, and growing together as a team
