MOVE LEGO ROBOTS

Is not a big deal for us.

Our first grade teacher Ľuboš prepared an interactive exhibition of Lego robots for the children. At first he demonstrated them all and then the children could try programming them themselves. Some robots was able to move, others created music with the help of a distance sensor.

We develop children's 21st century competencies and are engaged in many innovative projects. Work with lego based on practical activities that awaken and maintain in children the desire to learn, encourage curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.

European Night of Researchers

"LET´S TRUST SCIENCE"

is the message of the 16th annual European Night of Researchers festival, in which our school also participated with the "Meet Your Scientist" activity.

The students of the 8th grade were introduced to RNDr. Mgr. Jaroslava Sokolová, PhD., MPH - vice-dean for scientific research activities of the University of Trnava and head of the department of hospital epidemiology and hygiene together with RNDr. Karolína Tomčíková, PhD. from the SAS Institute of Virology, what does the work of a scientist look like, the areas in which they are engaged in their research. Students received a lot of valuable information on microbiology directly from experts in practice.

The aim of the researchers' night is to stimulate mainly young people to activity and experiential learning. To show that there are scientific explanations and principles behind all the phenomena around us and events in nature. Point out the need for verification and critical thinking, which are necessary in all areas of education.

Summer camp BESST - Science playfully

WE BECAME YOUNG SCIENTISTS

Our BESST Camp "Science playfully" took us into a world where you can express your natural curiosity and desire to discover, explore and experiment.

We had the opportunity to try many interesting experiments.

We built sailboats, animated a paper ghost, played football with magnets, saw dancing grapes.

We also managed to test a lava lamp, an elephant's trunk, and colorful flowers.

At the end of the week we tried chromatography, gigantic bubbles, a Kinder egg surprise and many other experiments which we managed with a smile and catchy joy.

We believe that the greatest discoveries are usually not made by those who succeed at everything the first time, but by those who, even after many failures, are able to continue.

We also took part in it through an activity Hour of Code, during which we spent one hour coding. Year 1 pupils were coding with an app called Code Monkey as part of their Lego Engineering classes. They learned simple sequencing and some even tried out some loops. They all enjoyed this hour and can't wait to get back to coding with their Lego robots!

Older pupils were working on a more advanced learning sequence that they will be able to use and continue with in the future.

ST. NICHOLAS ARRIVED TO OUR SCHOOL

"'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there."

Our children also prepared some English poems and songs for St. Nicholas, angel and devil, who arrived to our school on Monday and for their nice welcome our pupils were gifted with sweet treats.
